Limitations: The vast majority of dogs used to construct the T-STAT model were middle aged and older, and middle sized and larger. The calculator may have limited applicability to very young dogs and small breed dogs.
Disclaimer: The purpose of T-STAT is to provide an estimated probability of malignancy for an individual dog presenting with a splenic mass. Owners must have their pets examined by a licensed veterinarian for accurate use. Because the animal being treated by the licensed veterinarian will not be examined by a veterinarian at Tufts, medication cannot be prescribed nor can medical issues be addressed by doctors associated with Tufts University.
